Recorded in 1958 for the New Jazz label, this was legendary drummer Roy Hayne’s first US release.  Featuring the talents of Paul Chambers on bass and Phineas Newborn, Jr. (who steals the show) on piano, this trio didn’t record together for very long but the recordings they left behind are all top notch and should be checked out by all who enjoy piano trio sessions.
