Listening Room – “The Tokyo Concert”

This live album was Bill Evans’ first of many recordings for Fantasy Records during the 1970′s.  While certainly not nearly as well known as his classic Riverside sessions from the first part of his long career, all of his later records are worth hearing.  This 1973 album was recorded at Yubin Chokin Hall in Tokyo and while it features only one  Evans original - T.T.T.T. (Twelve Tone Tune Two) – all the selections are well chosen and showcase this great edition of the Bill Evans Trio.
